Hey guys im new to this so yea. i bought this 85 tecate for $300 was it a good buy or not its in bad shape.

it starts 2nd kick runs great has compression and power ive never riden something this strong i thought my 250r was strong and fast this is twice as stronger all i need is to get the carb running right how mamy turns out on the idle screwand it has stock jettings
Nice! My one doesn't have one idk why and don't like it, in the 84-85 book says discontinued. I would start at 1 1/2 and go from there, sorry I cant help. I will look up the other book and if I find it I will let you know.
Ok 86 book. All that's in it is, mikuni vm34ss, main jet 270, main air jet (2.5), needle jet r-2, jet needle 6fl56-3, jet needle clip position 3rd groove down from the top, pilot jet35, pilot air jet 1.4, starter jet 100, throttle valve cut away 3.0mm, service fluid level 1.0+1mm and float height 17.1+2mm. So, I don't think that helps anyway sorry but that is what I found.
