I finally got one and it's awesome! http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php/153975-Picked-up-a-Tecate-on-Vacation?p=1197954#post1197954" I need a clutch (very grabby and narrow engagement) and chain and sprockets (peace of mind). Are there any out of the ordinary or Tecate specific maintenance I need to check out on these? I figure the basics are: - change brake fluid - clean/lube brake sliders - check bearings - check swinger pivot - fork oil? - coolant? - gear oil with clutch - air filter - check every bolt/nut What about rear suspension links? Any other suggestions/recommendations? Thanks!
RTV the coolant drain plug. Mine backed out on a ride and ran lean all thae way back to camp (saved by the kill switch) Also, rear shock rebuild, they go flat. Carb cleaning & leak down test. Replace petcock if bad. This comes from recent "discoveries" on mine Good luck & send pics Munt
honestly i wouldnt worry unless the clutch slips, grabby means it's working and well at that, just my opinion. 'if forks work no need to screw with the oil. If you drove it and all is well, then why fix it? Of course the nuts and bolts will vibrate loose on these 3 wheelers and blue loctite is your friend.
