I'm pretty sure I have a good carrier I'll double check. And seal pullers are awesome BTW. Harbor freight has them as well I think

I also bent a screwdriver trying to get my fork oil seal out. What I did, and the service manual recommends, is dip the fork tube and seal in hot water. After I did that the seal came out easily, with a screwdriver.

Here is another trick is if a bearing is going in tight stick it in the freezer for a hour and the bearing will drop right in.

Alright, got the other two fork legs apart and can't get the seals out of those either. It really is making me mad.

Alright, I bought the seal puller above, used the hot water trick.. nothing. They won't even budge. I am so F'in tired of this. I don't know what the deal is. I have spent HOURS wasting time and effort for absolutely no movement whatsoever. The only 1 of 4 that I have managed to get out was with a pair of channellock pliers and lots of leverage, along with lots of damage. At this point it looks to me like Kawasaki made the fork lowers disposable. You are supposed to replace the whole lower fork leg when you want to change your fork seals. I'll be lucky to get 2 usable fork lowers out of the 4. The worst thing is that it makes me feel retarded that I can't do this.

Okay, I got them out. I took apart the forks on my 84, they have 1 large spring instead of the 85 forks that had 2 in each fork leg. I checked bikebandit and the 84 and 85 should both have a standard spring (long) and a smaller diameter wire tender spring (short). So I guess my 84 had an aftermarket spring kit in it. Yay!! The front forks on my 84 have always worked great over jumps and whoops. I plan to reuse the springs and fork tubes from my 84 with the 85 lowers. Should be done tonight.
Here is a pic of the spring difference.
