iam thinking it could be due to the carb not running right got a rebuild kit on the way I can put it in low gear and seems to run out fine with the lower rpms but when I put it in high gear it acts like its not getting enough fuel and sputtering out and wont get up to speed
i dont know if this is related, but on mine i could only move very slow in low gear, and high gear it would just rev and not move. I adjusted the clutch with the bolt that has a screwdriver tip on it...gotta loosen the bolt a bit and turn that screw counter clockwise until you feel some resistance then back off 1/4 of a turn! hope you figure it out!
