    This weekend's scores...

I wasn't even looking for anything (I'm actually home sick today... always trouble, lol) but I got a couple craigslist finds this weekend anyway.

First thing I picked up was this 1985 250r motor. Alledgedly bored .050 over recently and supposedly it runs. It has a good amount of the usual case damage (tighten your freaking chains people!) and both the clutch and stator covers have been broken and welded. The guy was asking $250. I got it for $50 and also got a FMF Fatty in pretty solid shape for another $25.

Also, I picked up a couple of Yamaha Tri-Zingers. One runner and a parts bike. Didn't do much chiseling this time since he was only asking $150 (I paid $140). The runner starts right up but doesn't clean out on top so it needs some fine tuning. Plastics are pretty trashed. Tires are wrong and worn out but for the price, not too shabby.

No plans to jump on this one right away. I have bigger fish to fry at the moment.

So somebody tell me about these little Zingers. What are the hard to find parts? Are the plastics still available new (OEM or aftermarket)?

The front numberplate/fender is just about impossible to find new. Everything else is readily available at bikebandit or on ebay. The parts to rebuild the front suspension/ forks are discontinued.
    Rides:
1986 ATC250R (sectional pipe and Klemm Research silencer)
1986 ATC250R (Desert Bike, WAX-ON seat, Dual Cibie lights, Steering Stabilizer)
1979 ATC110 (Bandito frame and forks, Turbo wheels, disc braked)
    1982 ATC70 (Lifan manual 125)
    1987 LT80 (piped, widened)

You might already know this, but zingers have a 3 position switch.
    Start / Run / Stop.
I always found that a bit odd. They are a real blast to ride!!!

Yeah I knew about the switch. What the hell is it actually doing differently in the start position though? I always thought that was weird.

I haven't had time to really look at them or read up on them yet. I can't even remember if they're oil injected or not. If so, that's gonna have to change. I don't trust those oil injection systems.

When in the start position it wont let the motor rev up so it can't take off on you. The had oil injection from the factory and I think it was pretty reliable.
