UPDATE PICS ADDED Picked up a 85 125m

Picked up a 125m at a swap meet for $200. Its got pretty much brand new trail pros on it. I got it home today, fixed the pull start, cleaned the carb, changed the oil, fresh plug, fresh gas with sea foam. But I realized there was no key. Guy said it ran. So I pulled it once, and it fired right up.

Runs good, all high and low gears work. Smokes like crazy! I sometimes here creaking while driving it? None of the lights work, Doesn't charge the battery, electric start doesn't work even with a good batt and jumping the solenoid. Pretty much the whole wiring harness is and spliced. But it runs, has brakes and a working kill switch.

Anyone know where I can find a topend end for this bike? Ive searched ebay with no results.

All trail pro's look new. They never wear. I swear in a million years they are going to dig up a YT and say " this is part of our history, but...... i wander when the new tires got put on it? "

The creaking is probably loose wheel hubs .

How much seafoam did you use with the gas?, one time a friend of mine put a whole can in his 4 wheeler and the thing smoked like crazy, just a thought, could be bad rings too though.

Wait Seafom + running enigne = Smoking. See you tube videos. Drain oil and see if it still smokes after a little while. Bad rings usually means lower compression. Done any compression tests?

I know that seafom + running engine = smoke.

It smoke before the seafom, its had 2 oil changes, carb clean, and a new plug. Its got low compression I can pull start it with 2 fingers. But it starts on the first pull ya honda!

I would pull the plug and put a little oil into the cylinder and see if the compression rises. With mine when I put the oil in the cylinder the pull got real hard like it should. This means likely the rings are shot. If the compression stays the same than maybe the valves need some love.

I tired that, it got a little more compression on the first pull, but then it was back down to what it always was. I dont have a compression tester but I looking to get one so I can get back to you guys with real numbers

Sounds like rings. Yeah the oil thing only works for 1 or 2 pulls then it will be back to the normal compression levels.. low. Get a tester and post the numbers. dratv sells the topend kits for your 125m. And much, much more. It's where most of us buy parts from. Have you grabbed a manual yet?

if its smoking that bad the cylinder is prob scored too it will most likely need an oversized piston and a frsh bore
