    atc/trx250r clutch baskets

    do the 85-89 atc/trx250r motors have the same clutch baskets?

    I'm curious of any differences myself..... Not just your basket

    Not that this is helpful but:

    I thought the years were "mostly" the same. The clutch update kit was on the long rod motors but still the same basket, No??

    The 88/89 must have had a different crank and cylinder..... Or maybe the piston pin moved??

    Did all 5 years have the same exact tranny??

    Somebody educate me please

    Baskets are all the same. Cylinders all interchange, although the 88-89 have the better bridged intake. Cranks are different and so are the pistons. But all will interchange with all year 85-89 cases, just need the right combo of crank and piston. You can run a late style crank with a early style "short rod' piston providing you have a spacer plate.

    There are some differences in the baskets.

    i have a trx clutch set inmy atc it uses an extra fiber and steel plate but the plates are thinner so its nothign to worry about. it works fine.
