cuyuna 440 question

im in the process of transplanting a cuyuna 440 out of a 78 scorpion sting, into a go kart. when in the sled the fuel pump has one line in from tank, one out to carb, and one that goes into one side of the crankcase. my question is if i mount tank above engine and have only one line from tank to carb and have it gravity fed. will i burn up the engine without having the line going to crankcase? or is that just for vacuum?

Just plug the nipple on the case and you'll be fine.
