Thumbs up Hey all! Long time no see! Some R pics

Well sorry I've been absent from the boards for a while! I've stopped in and checked stuff out but never really posted anything I guess....

Anyway I went riding today and after I can back i figured I'd grab a few pictures of the R for the heck of it!

This is what you can do with a short track kit!!! hahaha

This winter I'm going to strip the bike down and prob do something different with the frame..... I'm going to ask around locally and see if anybody has the ability to chrome the whole frame.... would be different I think

chroming the whole frame does not look very good, unless you do some serious cleaning up at all the weld portions of the frame. I have seen a couple chromed, and they really dont look as good as you would think/hope. I am just going to have a new frame built and then have it chromed.

IMO, a nice chrome powder with some kind of transparent color looks awsome.

Well Kintore I geared my bike for top end, stock gearing on the 85/6 R is 13/39 I'm pretty sure..... and if I still had that I would imagine it would be hard to keep the front end down, especially on hills! haha But with the 14/36 I have it's perfect for where I ride (Railroad beds). Often times I going so damn fast in 5th gear WOT I forget I have another gear to go!!!

That 310 kit has been great for me, and the 38mm TMX is still on there too! Runs awesome!

As a side story, 2 years ago I studded the tires and went out on my lake when in was frozen over but there was no snow on it yet. I had my gearing at 14/33!!! Even with the jetting perfect, the 310 kit and 38mm carb you had to wind that engine all the way out in 5th gear to even think about shifting into 6th and not bogging down! But I'm pretty sure I was going right around 100mph across that lake topped out in 6th!!!!!! That was exhilarating for sure!!!

That just makes me wonder what chrisR's bike can do! He has an ESR330 kit and 15/33 gearing!!!!!
