Sounds like a streetbike or a tank nonetheless......

They sold kits that would either convert a street bike with a rear swingarm or some places sold frames that would take those engine. At first glance they sound pretty powerful, but they weren't really. Unless you have alot of wide open spaces to open it up, it just really isn't all that. They worked ok in a bike, but were never really meant for a trike. The novelty is kind of cool. But they are heavy and cumbersome and not manuverable. You will have bragging rights while having though. Hopefully it's one of those kits and not just some cobble up piece of junk. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do.

The cb550 didnt make alot of power and was heavy. If you have the time and like to work on other peoples headaches, go for it...
No trikes. Too old, too crippled. Unless I find one I can't live without!

I'd rather have an XR500 motor than that monstrous boat anchor

its heavy yes, but most trikes weigh less then a 500cc + motor bike. in my experinces anyways. a 550CB engine will still have a noticeable jump from say a 200 or 250 4 stroke. and for 200? if its all in order and running good. still a steal.

you can part the entire bike minus the frame... and a running bike engine for 200?? what difference does it make?
