Novice Tuner....84 200S....Please Help

I've been working on this 84 200S for a while now....

Wiseco Piston on fresh bore
Stock Exhaust
K&N
Needle Clip 4 up from bottom (middle did not work)
Stock Carb/Jets

Here is what is happening (suggestions please)....

1) Starts 2nd or 3rd pull with choke all the way on. Once it warms up, I can move the choke to the middle setting, but I can not turn the choke off or it will die.

2) When I turn the handlebars, the RPMs change....I know it's prolly the throttle cable. Where is the best place to get one???

3) Runs strong through the gears, but backfires and sputters on deceleration. Air/Fuel Screw?

Please forgive my novice questions. Thanks in advance for your help guys.

running with the choke on tells me its running lean.
Try rerouting the throttle cable to fix the reving on turns. or see if you can pull some slack
not sure about the backfires.

The backfires are lean symptoms, too.
Try raising the needle and turning the fuel screw out a little.
Might need to change the main jet as well.

What's the plug look like?

throttle cable has issues,to tight or binding.backfires are a lean condition pull carb off clean thoughly and reset to factory specs.put in a new plug and try again,should be better.

Sounds lean. Do a plug chop and go from there...may have to bump the main jet.

I usually buy them at the local dealer. I believe you can order jet kits through Dennis Kirk also...
