what do you guys use for a thumb throttle set up on your 84,85 tecate.i have a stock carb.im looking to put a thumb throttle set up not sure what works.i also need a cable to that works to.i have a pretty much new twist pro motion an cable i would be willing to trade.let me know shoot me a pm thanks for the help.

I used a 2005 Suzuki Z400 thumb box and throttle cable! Im using a pwk39mm carb. Get them fairly cheap on E-Bay.

ya i wonder if i could use the cable i have with another kawasaki thumb throttle off a quad.i just dont want to end up with something that wont work an be out the money.hey thanks for the example

I think I have seen another that was running a liquid honda 250r assy, both cable and thumber assy. You could get an aftermarket cover for the thumber so you dont have to look at HONDA on your handlebars. If needed, I could take some measurments for ya.

I was thinking of putting a thumb throttle on my Kawasaki that the best engineers in the world decided deserved a twist throttle. Then I reached down between my legs and realized that I am, in fact, a man. At that point I realized that something so intentionally different has no place being messed with by the likes of me. Fab your funny! its hard to beat the z400 box and cable. super smooth! twist throttles are great, for dirt bikes! some people like the twist on a t3 and some just cant figure out how to make a thumb work properly. If you do decide to go with the 400 pm me and ill let you no what needs to be done.

nothing like a good old ball busting.man i like a twist also but my buddy wrecked on my trike a couple weeks ago. trike has a couple bumbs an scratches.but he hit a camaro in my drive way an did 2,000$ damage.not good caused alot problems between friends.i think the thumb throttle might have saved the crash.he held on to the bars an held the throttle wide open.so the lesson learned is never allow anyone to ride your machines it will cause problems if they wreck.
o by the way i scored a 03 z400 thumb throttle an cable last night
