    sputtering through carb!

    almost like its backfiring and sputtering from the carb, will only run for like 45seconds. what gives?

    This is on a 4 stroke I take it? Did you check the timing? Also, check the valve lash at the rocker arms and make sure they arent too tight on the intake side. Is the choke stuck in the ''on" position?

    yes it is a 4 stroke, i reset the valves twice, I have not checked the timing yet, I guess its only mechanical (make sure chain marks line up on cam) The funny thing is when I take the screw intype choke off, it runs better, but will not idle, and if i put my finger over the choke whole it starts running rough.
