I recently noticed the bottom part of the blue fork covers were darker than the top part and had oil on them seeping down the forks. I take it that the seals have gone out and was wondering if this will be difficult to fix the seals and how long can it still be ridden before it is damaged to much to be fixed.

Its a $15 dollar job with the oil if you do it yourself. They are easy to do. Look in the repair manual, it gives you a step by step.

Bleed the air out of the forks first. Most of the time, leaking oil = blown seals but there's been rare occasions when I would get a trike and find out the previous owner put a bunch of air in the forks. Bleed it out, leak's gone.
As was stated above though, it's an easy job. The manual can be downloaded for free.

Allen wrench and snap ring pliers= done.
Take the old seal and use it on top of the new seal to tap it in.

Lets not overlook the proper fork seal driver.....
It's EASY to some guys but this is one of those repairs that allot of people damage the seal merely installing them.
Seal drivers can be made from PVC or other materials, but you can't just push the seals in by hand or with screwdrivers.
All our government does is distract us while they steal from us, misspend our tax $ and ruin our country

Use the old seal. Put a little bel-ray grease on the lip of the new one. Mine went in fairly easy. Pvc works great.

Thanks for the input. How much longer could I ride it without major damage? I don't usually ride it hard but I do ride it often. But I don't want to push it too far before I replace them.
