As long as everything else is tight, all you will gain from the actual boring is a good running trike. There will be no actual horsepower gain from boring it .10 over.

Boring is just a waste of cylinder life thats why i laugh my butt off when people brag about there bikes being .080. For the little bit being taken off you wont even notice anything. Boring the min. when rebuilding a bike is great. Boring way over for the hell of it is useless.

the only way you gain from a 2mm bore (.080" as ever .040" is 1mm) is if you have supporting mods from for it. such as port and polished head, chamber is opend to new bore size, over sized valves and so on. as pointed out, you'll ge a good clean running trike is all. no performance gains.
want more? get a 30mm carb and intake, get a performance exhaust and tune the carb. that'll give you the best possible performance you can get w/o going crazy.

$400 is pretty high for rebuilding the topend.
The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person who is doing it.

in my opinion $400 is cheap for a "compelte" redo.
