    86 200x clutch nut question

also the oil rotor, my pdf says there staked but im not sure what to look for, i dont think they have the stakes in them.

I'm trying to put my new cam chain on and change my clutch discs but the nuts just wouldn't budge, I didn't try a breaker bar, because i have no good method of holding everything together, which sucks, but my funds are spent for now. Help?

the nuts are fairly tight 29-36 lbs is factory torgue setting. They make a chain lock tool so engine does not spin but I myself used a large set of visegrips with a rag to prevent effin' up my new chain. You can make a clutch nut tool with an old socket or pipe, just grind it to fit or 13.00 on dratv?? Where ya at in Ohio?? Going to Lightning on the 22nd??? I plan to be there with my 200x and test her out........ good luck.

the 86 and 87 clutch nut is staked on. There is a recess in the shaft. To remove it you have to drill the part thats staked in out and then it should come out. When you put back in the nut, tighten it and then use a small punch and re-stake the nut into the recess. There isn't a special tool or have to make one. For the 83-85 you have to make or get a special tool.

You can beat a flat head screwdriver under the staked area and then loosen the nut. Isn't one or the other left hand thread?
The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person who is doing it.

hmm I'm going to take some pictures, and then maybe some one can use some paint skills and help me.

deathman i know you have a 2nd gen, got any pics?

Oh, I do have another bottom end that I can see someone drill out the stakes, but I still dont see the stakes themselves. I'll check closer this time when i take pics.
