it's kind of hard to vote because the 84 and 85 250r are not really the same.

It should be 83-84 250R, and 84-85 tecate. If those were the choices, I would deffinatly choose the tecate. I mean look at all the diffrances. Liquid cooling compared to air cooling for one. The tecate was better than the earlier 250R's, but when the 85-86 R's came out, the 84-85 tecate didnt even compare!

    83/84R for me.

My stock 83R had better suspension than the 84/85 tecates quicker engine. I would lose the holeshot sometimes and pass T3s in the technical stuff.

    250r

I pick the 250r, better suspension and wont break down every 2 seconds. Also because its a Honda and the tecate is Kawasaki. Kaw. is known for parts going out.

Who ever said Kawasaki Tecates werent reliable? Mine was savagly beaten by the past owner, and looked like a pile of junk when I first picked it up, but guess what.... it started on the FIRST kick. Just about every time, it starts right up. The only reason that some parts are out on mine is because it has been rolled a dozen times. The guy who had it must not have given a crap about it, and trashed it to hell. Well now its in my hands, and I plan on restoring it to the machine that it should be. A Honda killer. LOL. lol

Idk I think it would be a really really close battle if it was 85/86 r and 85/86 tecate. But i think im gonna have to go with the rs on this one. And ive pinned a 86 tecate to the handle bar and held on. You go for a hell of a ride but I held on the same with and 86 r ive had both
