    Ricky Stator #1 customer service

a while ago i thought i blew up my 86 T-3,didnt feel like dealing with it so i let it sit all summer.finally 2 weeks ago i decided to tear it apart....everything looked perfect in the head and clylinder,so i figure its in the bottom end, start to remove the balencer and i notice some bar copper wire hanging out of one of the windows in the flywheel.......remove it only to find out that the lighting coil had come off the stator backing plate and jammed against the flywheel,in turn locking up the motor, and destroying the stator as well as the flywheel.so i contact RS who i bought the stator from, more than 1 year after the fact, they tell me to send it to them and they will fix it,figuring i would get a call from them looking for a credit card # to pay for the repair...i was wrong it showed up today in the mail, with not only a new stator, but a brand new(aftermarket)upgraded flywheel now that is customer service i am RS customer for life and will refer anyone and everyone i can too them

Problem is...if they would have done it right the first time you wouldn't have missed a summer of riding. Sure I love the fact that they will replace a bad stator, but when a new only lasts 3 rides then I have to pull it out, ship it back, wait for the next one and install it it isn't worth it.

WOW - That is top notch!!

I wonder why some of there stuff works great and other falls apart, doesn't work or dies within a short period of time??

RS seems like 50/50 but that really is great that they took care of you

    Great Customer Service

Like the Governor said on 'Oh Brother Where Are Thou'....That Fine Boys! That Fine! Even the best products are prone to failure sometimes because of the human element, maybe someone made on a Monday with a hangover or on a Friday in a hurry to go get a hangover. It's great when they or any company make good on their products...keeps us all riding.

it didnt really matter to me that it was down all summer,i have enough other rides to quench my thirst the T3 is a dedicted dune machine now any way,and i usually only make that treck twice a year, besides if i was in a hurry to get it fixed i would have taken it apart immediatleynot 3 months later.also i got a new flywheel as well,so it was better that it happened that way and i didnt have to buy a flywheel with money out of my own pocket, everyone knows that an original T3 flywheel is on borrowed time as it is

RS will stand by there product. They haven't stayed in business this long just by dumb luck. When I had my Tri-Z stator done I asked about T3 stator problems as most if not all the bashing of RS came by way of T3 owners. Mike stated we always stand by our product.
