Make sure the high/low box isn't stuck in the middle, if it is it will not go into gear.

i changed the oil and it seems to be running real good, but it still wont drop into gear. the gear shifter will go through all the gears, its just not engaging. on my 110, you can kinda feel it go into gear. on the 200 its just the gear lever and nothing else. i tried to adjust the auto clutch again but no luck. can anyone tell me what could be broken thats keeping it from actually going into gear?
i called an atv/motorcycle mechanic and he said it would take him an hour to go through it for $40. he also said that on the shaft (?driveshaft?) there is a locking mechanism that if rotated would not let it go into gear. any thoughts?
it does not make any noises when you put it into gear? a click? im not 100% sure with these atc's but the yammys have a rubber boot over the end of the shaft closest to the motor. if u have one of those i would loosen it up and check to see if the shaft is spinning. if it is it has something to do with the rear end.
Looking for some smaller style tires like the r's have, just 2 back tires. pm please.
it does make a click. but it doesnt engage somewhere. i'll go check to see whats spinning and what is not
i couldnt get the rubber sleeve off easily, so i put it in gear and stuck a screwdriver into the middle of the sleeve and it is turning there. so that means something is wrong with the rearend. is that where the locker is? i check the gear oil and it was real clean and at proper level.
i dont think there is anything besides a fitting that connects the shaft to the rear drive. now that your closer to your diagnosis some other people who know more then me will be able to help you alot better. i just know that if that shaft is spinning theres something wrong with the end of the shaft that is connected to the drive. or the differential is messed or less likely you could have stripped wheel hubs. but u would probably fell a tinny bit of movement

i unbolted the rear driveshaft cover and got the rubber cover at the other end loose. i turned off fuel and tilted it back on two wheels. i removed the skid plate and could actually get to stuff. i put it in gear and manualy turned the shaft at the top but its not turning at the bottom. both the rubber cover and hard rear cover are in the way of me seeing the connection of the 2.
i think you unbolt the diff and it slides out somehow. again im not 100% sure now im just running off what my yammy looks like.

yeah i was thinking either that or take the 3 bolts out where the shaft goes into the motor
empty out your rear dif fluid and check for metal shards.
