    tecate issues

I need help. I put on a new ricky stator and flywheel combo. Everything is wired correctly and I have great spark. Now when I kick it over, I am getting fuel dripping out of the front of the jug, so I figure it is a carb problem. Took apart the carb and cleaned thoroughly, float valve appears to be working, the bowl is totally full when I took it apart, put it back on and still sending fuel through the front of the jug where the pipe meets up. Is my float valve bad? could it be anything else that i am not thinking of? Any help appreciated.

All I can think is that maybe while it was sitting gas made its way through the carb and into the crankcase. Maybe it's just puddled up in there from sitting. I would hold the throttle open, kick 'er over until she starts, see how she's running, and take it from there. The float needles in those old Miks are known not to make a very good seal.

My tecate has done the same. Pull the plug, and turn it over with your hand using the kicker to dry it out. Clean the probably soaking wet plug. WOT, and kick for all you are worth.

Put a new needle & seat in it.

I could'nt agree with that comment any better if I had made it myself, but I'd like too add that it should be turned off weather it is a 2 or 4 stroker in my opinion.Off of the top of my head I can think of a half dozen storie's of people snapping rod's ,filling up the cylinder/case's,air filter's sitting in fuel, machine's won't turn over, one fire and more stories ~ just because the gas was'nt shut off after your done with it,and 99.9% of the time was the needle seat/sticky float senereo .. LOL,my brother Joedirt used to get pissed at me because when I'd be on a machine weather it was mine or his I'd alway's shut the gas off and he never did so he'd get on a machine and it would run outta gas in a minute after he'd start riding.Well one day low and behold his warrior jug/case and his airbox filled up with gas because of not shutting the gas off,I ain't heard him say anything to me since about shutting the gas off.

If you do find you have gas in the case and your gonna pull your plug and kick or pull it to get the fuel outta there make sure you shut the machine off and push the cap to the side .. Basically a spark is a bad thing in that case,LOL.. And for sure drain your oil and start over with a fresh oilchange..
