Coaltrain, just give it up man......lol, no reallly I think all 3 wheelers are worth saving; some live on as a parts bike and then theres that 250SX that you have....in a class by itself! Good luck and please keep us posted, kinda would like to see the tab you run up.

When I first went and looked at the 250sx I had but one concern on my mind, and that was to make sure it was mechanically sound. The motor ran great with no smoke, the kickstart grabbed every time and felt solid, and I checked the oil in the rear end for water, the oil in the rear end had no water in it and I could tell it had not been recently changed just to hide a problem. I wanted something that was a solid foundation for a restore/rebuild and thats what this one is. I didn't care about the fenders, seat cover or fuel tank paint because all that stuff was going to be replaced any way with brand new. I've got it stripped to the frame right now and I added my steering stops for the 350x front end I have for it ( another reason I didn't care about the front golf cart tire, 350x forks are getting a new tire/rim combo any way). When it's done I figure i will have bought the following for it: new fenders front and rear, 350x front tire, rim and hub combo, piece of vinyl for seat, red kote or por15 and new paint job for the fuel tank, carb kit, choke and throttle cables, swing arm boot, new petcock valve, and a decal set. I am going to start sandblasting the frame today. hopefully i won't run int too many surprises.

sorry its hard to see. but this is the only picture i have of my 200x when i fisrt got it. the front of it was backed over by a tractor trailor in my dads freinds yard(the original owner) and then it was pushed of to the side. so the truck destroyed everything fron the gas tank up and bent the axel. then sitting the sun killed the seat and plastics.. for a good comparison it looked prettymuch like sandpuppis but in 200x form lol
but cleaned the carb and some fresh fuel and the engine started in 2 kicks : ) and somehow the fram survived the truck incident with only the steering stop beeing all bent up.
here it is now...still needs some cosmetic love but that will come as soon as money permits. and cosmetic is all thats left
ps. i got the bike when i was 14...and im 18 now.so it had a couple years of getting just what it needed to be ridden and i beat the crap out of it. i rode it with that bent axel right up until the motor gave a huff then it sat in my back yard for a year befor my interest really kicked back up and i decided to rebuild it...i lost interest due to a gf that has now come and gone so im back dumpin money into it like i shoulda done the first time haha

I have a candidate. I bought an 85 250R and it came with a 1986 parts bike. Bent frame, bent swingarm. bent axel, smashed casing and generally dead. Well here it is today.....
