i dont text and driving it not worth it..but this week im doing parking at the dutchess county fair and people really get very mad if i ask them to get off the phone till they are parked

I truly believe that within a very short time, text messaging will use "voice recognition" and turn your voice into words.

IMO, texting is stupid and annoying, just give the person a call. Unless it's "the party is ON!!" texted to 25 people in one shot. Or in the sense of the dating world and the first few awkward days or weeks, texting makes it easy to "play safe" and merely say "had a great time, hope to see you again" Heaven forbid you go out with someone have a great time and actually call them and tell them so, you'll frighten them off like a crazed needy stalker so texting is beneficial in that regard......

I'm curious to see where all this tech will lead us, it's very easy now to avoid actual conversation involving FEELINGS and EMOTIONS!!

When I F'd around with the neighbor, she loved texting. Probably so she could text 5 guys at once saying "hey, I was thinking about you, when we gonna get together?" thus creating 5 dates at once. Now THATS multitasking

My buddies GF comes over, lays in my hammock and just start texting everyone she knows. For the next 20 minutes its' BZZZ BZZZ BZZZ and another response from her with yet more replies. I think texting and "needy people" go hand in hand. Anyone who has there own agenda and things to do is actually ANNOYED by the phone...........

I think allot of people are just avoiding an actual conversation when texting so it will never end. The only solution that I can see that still avoids human contact is voice recognition converted to text.....

Exactly. In the amount of time it takes me to txt a message to someone I could have called them, said everything I needed and been done. When we the younger generation grow old it will be a better world, well atleast seniors wont be able to drive because we will have arthritis in all the joints of our hands

My blackberry actually does that where I say it and it appears on the screen and asks me who to send it to and I just have to say they're name and say send and it goes. And when a message comes in it asks me if I want it to read it out loud to me.

I had to quit watching at the part with the dead baby with the blue eyes. My 11 month old daughter has eyes just like that...

I read somewheres, that the reaction time of a driver texting is worse than that of a drunk driver TWICE OVER the legal limit. Thats amazing.

The worst driver on the road is a sleepy drunk texter! Even if you die at the wheel, at least you're likely to drift off the road into a ditch. But when you're a sleepy drunk texter you make an effort to keep going.

I will text while driving, but only on the interstate. Don't look at the phone just look at the road, it was a lot easier before touchscreens. Don't have to look, it's easier than adjusting most of the fancy radios people have in their cars these days.


Texting is helpful when you have a job like mine. Phone calls are impossible to make, yet there is NOTHING to do.


I might send 1-200 texts a month these days. A few years ago when I could be found in a bar 6 nights a week...eh, I'd send up to 15k a month...easy. Had to organize a new slough of drunk sluts to drink with every night.

So here I was last saturday driving over my girls house, minding my own business. I was on a rural road , just cruising the speed limit. The road had a curve to the left for me. I look up ahead, and here's an F-150 veering into my lane, coming at me head on, I said holy , Hit the shoulder on my right, my truck went up on a banking, and the right front tire hit a rock formation, jerked the wheel out of my hands and I came to a stop.I jumped out looking at the guy saying what the F. He kept right on going. I looked at the tire and wheel and there is a huge chunk missing at the bead area. It still held air though. I get back on the road, now the steering wheel is way off, because it bent the tie-rod end. The tire eventually went flat too....The moral of the story is, I bet that sum-biatch was text messaging
So know I'm out a wheel, tire, and a front end allignment, because of a that was text messaging

A few Counties here in Ohio, just passed the laws...
It is now a 200$ fine for texting while driving...
Not enough incentive if you ask me, but hey, it is a start in the proper direction...
