I've been told synthetics would cause some slippage, so I've never ran it.

You can get the manual in pdf format from a link in one of the threads kicking around here somewhere, and that also says 10w 40.

I'd just stick running whats recommended by Honda
If you can't fix it with a , its an electrical problem.

85 ATC 200s--Ratted out and not running at the moment

86 ATC 200x--All stock other than the handle bars

85 ATC 250es Big Red -- Just got new rubbers and she wants to ride!!

04 Suzuki LTZ250 quadsport - It was a decent price and I'm a raging idiot.

20-w50 a common motorcycle oil will work that motor at that milage shouldn't need a thinner oil because of tight tolerences
If it had tight tolorences it probably Dosent any more do to high usage

well if I was to put in new rings and valve stem seals etc, would I still need a thicker oil or would I just stick with basic 10W40?
