I have my 250sx totally stripped and just finished painting the frame. I'll be done with the swingarm and engine paint next week. Which should I install into the frame first? The motor or the swingarm? Are there any tips or tricks to getting them together easier?

I would say swingarm first, then you would at least have a rolling chassis. The motor should slide right in after that.

actually i think it's easier to isntall the motor then the swonger due to the driveshaft going through it.

I'll second that. Those SX/ES motors are tight enough going in and out without worrying about lining up the driveshaft too.Originally Posted by oscarmayer

Yes on the 250sx (and I'm sure the 250es as well) it is easier to put the motor in first. It can be done the other way but is not as easy. Or at lease this is what I have found with my friends 250sx.

I had a roller, then put the motor in, but it was not the easiest. Haven't tried it the other way. The motor is a real tight fit. It helps if you have some help.

When I disassembled the trike I removed the engine first and it was a very tight fit with all most no extra room.
