    Value of '85 ATC250R & Todays market

I am trying to sell my '85 ATC250R that is a clean bike but I haven't had many calls/emails on it, the only ones have been low ball offers. What is the value of a clean riding trike? I just bought it back in Feb from the original owner who bought it brand new off the showroom and traded in a 83 'R. When I was looking for one they were 1500-2000 just for a decent one. Right now in the Tulsa craigslist there are 3 R's and they range from 2000 - 3500 and I put mine at 1500. Is that out of line or are there just no buyers right now? The Oklahoma market place seems to be strong right now but maybe not.

smallest number of buyers out there right now I have ever seen. Please do not be misled by the " sales " you see on ebay. 99% of the bidding is from people who have absolutly no intention of buying the bike, they are just bidding for fun. Then you have to add in all the shill bidding that is taking place right now...whew..
It may sell , but anything above $2000 better be showroom. You should have seen the bikes on ebay a few weeks ago, and nada, no decent bids.
It's a wicked time to be a buyer!!!!!

I had the same problem selling my son's 400ex. It took two weeks and I only wanted $1600.00 for a real nice quad. Lots of lowball offers or people wanting to trade. I finally got $1500.00

I'd say 800-1200 for most of them and 2000 and up for really nice 6000$ invested ones.

Not a good time to sell..............

I could probably part it and get 1300-1400 but it is somewhat of a hassle to do that. I have done that with 2 different quads, one was an Arens chasis Trx250R w/powervalve 265 motor & lonestar suspension & the other was a 660 raptor that was a 65hp 686 w/dual flatsides & complete aftermarket suspension. Both bikes I got over 5k parted on eBay but those were a ton of aftermarket parts. I have considered going that route.

Sold it for $1200, went perty quick. Thats what it takes right now to sell. Also make the thing SHINE, no dirt on the bike. People arnt going to pay top dollar for stuff thats not top of the line you got to get there eye. It is much more dificult to get the attention now then in the past.

    grancuda,
That sure looks like a $1500 trike to me. The question is can you wait a few weeks / months to get your price or do you need the cash now?
Personally, I wouldn't budge under $1500 - someone will give you what it's worth eventually.

Yep, don't get less than $1500. Unless, that is, someone happens to offer you an Xbox 360 and some old car speakers. Then I would jump all over that if I were you.

    Ask $2000 but take $1700.

You've got a beautiful machine, don't put up with low ballin tire thumpers.
If you can't fix it with a , its an electrical problem.
