Thanks! I had been wanting one since i was 18 and im 24 now. It came up by my house and i saw the fact that it had papers and all sorts of extras and oem rear fenders so i jumped on it. Finding out its an old racer was a bonus. Your time will come. Or you just have to be willing to drive a little

Ok guys i have a carb issue. If you looked at the pics and saw the video i posted yesterday she wouldnt idle and was pissing fuel. I blew out the needle and seat and cleaned out the bottom of the carb and no more fuel leaks..DONE! (still have a shindy rebuilt kit on the way) Now i put it back togeather and she runs but still has the idling problem. It starts on choke and runs fast on choke but as the engine warms and i slowly bring the choke off the idle drops and when i get the choke completely off she dies. She caughs alot to. She will run on half choke but caughs the whole time. I adjusted the mixeture to 2.5 turns as per the manual. Any other ideas. Please watch the newest video i made. Im thinking she is lean Also here are some pics of some wheel spacers i found in the boxes of parts...

There are some kill switches, extra footpegs and rear brake set up + master cylinder, sprocket galore, extra oilcooler, extra cooler screen...

Did you try turning the idle screw in on the side of the carb to get it to idle a little higher? Also, you could try adjusting it from the cable, either on the thumber, or more likely at the top of the carburetor cap, under the rubber boot (if its there) Loosen the cable locknut, lower one, and turn the above threaded part out to make her run a little faster. Remember to have the enging running so you can see where your at. Good luck!

I think though that she is running lean verusus more of an idling screw problem. If she runs with choke and when she comes off of choke then dies i think she is running lean. Also if it was just an idle problem how would that explain the coughing yakno? Not being mean just thinking outloud. Appreciate the thoughts though.

BigHenault I am not looking to sell anything at the moment. But when i do decide to see i will be posting in the classifieds.

I guess you could start then by checking the intake manifold that attaches from the carb to head for cracks. Start the engine, and spray starting fluid around the boot, and around the head. If the motor revs slightly when you spray a certain spot, you may have an air leak. Another thing that comes to mind is the exhaust. Is is clogged with a mouse nest or somthing, or does it have good flow? Air fliter clean? Next, are you sure the jets in the carburetor are stock, or did someone monkey with them, and needle in the right setting in slide? You may want to clean the carburetor again, as you may have a partial clog. I usually run a fine piece of wire through all the jets, as well as carb cleaner and compressed air. A strand of wire off an old clutch or throttle cable works great. Is there a in line fuel filter on your gas line? Check that the gas cap is venting properly too. Good luck, and hope I can give you a few pointers if nothing else.

Yes they are. I cant stop staring at it. I just go out to the garage and just stare at it. I love it! I have wanted one for so long. Just gotta get the carb rebuilt and clean up the rest of the stuff. Then start saving for a frame off. I cant believe the power this thing has. I just crack the throttle and the front end goes up. I am having some problem getting used to the tranny. I cant ever seem to find neutral...

I'd take the carb off and give it a good cleaning, make sure to get all the jets out and verify that the small orifices are all clear. Not sure how long it was run without the filter but even the smallest bit of dirt could plug up a jet or sit in the needle and seat of the float. Dump the gas from the tank and start with fresh fuel and a clean tank and petcock, old crappy fuel (even a few weeks old anymore)and rust/water won't help . Clean that K&N and re-oil and put it back on and then see where the jetting sits. You can't start playing with jetting till you get the rest taken care of, clean fuel and clean air. With that you'll have a good base to start from.

    Ross,
Yes i did that when i first got it because she was streaming fuel. I blew out the needle and seat and sprayed some carb cleaner in her. That took care of the problem but didnt fix the idleing problem. However I just walked in the house and found this!! Hopefully i will have an update later tonite. Hopefully this wont take to long. Never done a 3 wheeler carb before so i might need some help later..
