Other smaller or lesser known companies, such as Tiger ATV, Franks, and Cagiva, produced racing three wheelers, but in much smaller numbers. Few of these machines are known to exist today and are highly sought by collectors.

    Im with Billy,

    I would RIDE it.

I got a question for the people i have seen say its worth 10k-30k. Who do you think would pay that much for it?

I meen honestly i dont know of anyone thats into trikes enough that would dump that kinda money into something that is only good to look at. Trike guys are typicaly trike guys because they ride. The collectors seem to be into fixing them up just as much as collecting them. There is a big diffrence in paying 2k for a nice R to change a few things to make it perfect and all original, Its another thing to pay 5X that for a piece thats only vaule is history.

Honestly the only people i could see somewhat intrested in something like that would be a dealership like the Kerney Yamaha.

I remember vaguely, a few hi- dollar sellers selling "Like new" barely ridden 350X's to some hi figure people for between 5-7k a few years ago, and those were used machines. I think there was a NFL football player around here that paid like 8k for a almost new 86 350X.
I would think a deep pocket collector would pay at least 10K for a new in crate machine like that.
But in this economy, 7k to 9k is more realistic, sad, but true.
Here is where my long useless list of stuff nobody cares about should go...

i would ride it also, but only in the snow with old plastics on it.

i agree that 7k is the top of the price range

Guys the difference is with this one is ITS IN THE CRATE! No restoration, or armor-all, or even human hands assembling it. To the collecter it doesnt get any better and will only be worth more as time goes on. And there are people out there with DEEP pockets. I've seen a pair 1986 Honda Z50R's chrome edition in the crate go for $50K. A 1985 CR500 in crate go for $15K. If you are wealthy beyond belief $30K is a drop in the bucket.

And as far as riding it goes that would be quite a waste to me. Crate 250R's just dont grow in the garden guys, there is no shortage of 250r's out there if you want to ride one spend a grand or less and pick one up. Because once its assembled w/gas and started up its no longer new anymore and the mystique is gone and is just like all the other thousands that are out there.

Plus lots of people say oh I have the nicest low hour all original 250R..well none of the those bikes can compare to the like of this cause its untouched straight in the box from Honda.

Unfortunatley, anything is only worth as much as someone is wiling to pay for it. I would prolly pay some big bucks for that if I had it to spend. Then I would assemble it and ride it. Not thrash it, but at least ride it around and got my money's worth.

The 50 K Chrome special edition 50's never did sell. The auction ended. I happen to know the collector who tried to buy. Same guy had a mint 350x and R as well. 50 K its easy when you got it. I have seen alot of stuff in crates sell astronomically to the gentleman I know. RC51's in crates. CX750 and 500's honda's turbo bikes brand new in crates just to name a few. Its insane what things sell for.
