easy guys, as of right now I dont know what i will do, will most likely keep most parts for now, I have 5 headlight assemblies, a few exausts, so I can get rid of a couple of those. i have to go through the rest of my parts and see what I can weed out. I'll let you's know

cleaned carb today, wasnt that bad, cause it had been drained. outside was a mess!!, exaust was missing carbon cleanout cap, made new one, and drilled and tapped where old bolts were snapped. axle is about ready to come out, so I can asess the damage from blown bearing. I could tell the right rear wheel had never been removed before!!(SWEET) airbox and plumbing removed for cleaning, filter cage is kinda rough but i got a nicer one, it had a homemade filter, decent job on it acually. Threw it in the trash. I will clean it up good while its apart. Of course i broke the 3 header gaurd bolts removing that to get at the exaust clamp they are like freaking butter!! So those will have to be fixed. I want to remove the header, but i DO NOT want to break any exaust studs!! judging by the amount of mud caked on there for the last 2 years they wont be easy, I tried the one that looks almost new, and it didnt seem like it wanted to come. so i left it for now. should I try after i run it while its hot? I have been hitting it with sea foam all day. Who has a good recomendation for this, i'm sure tons of you have done it. I hope to get it going tomorow, I will post some more pics+progress.

It pisses me off when i think how sweet this thing would be if he had only spent 15 min washing it before he put it away!! I'll get her back to her old glory!!

heres a shot of the carrier, I think I can salvage it, but im gonna throw this spare in for now, the adjusters on the one are in much better shape, so hopefully i can revive it!!

the outer race , or most of it is still in there

als wondering if there is any problem using this 85 axle/sprocket, while I get the other cleaned up. will the bolts on the back of the sprocket work with the 86 carrier.

heres a pic of my other x, its an 86, all there, starts, and runs good, The guy I bought it from was not honest with me, he was asking 1800.00 for it, I almost didnt buy it, he said it needed nothing really. didnt get to ride it but around his one time, he ended up taking 1400.00 for it, and threw in 2 extra sets of wheels, so I went for it. After getting it home and riding it and getting into it, this is what i discovered: needs axle bearings, 2 lower exaust studs are broken, rear master cylinder leaks, (when full brakes work great), will need a clutch soon, in tight trails,stop/go it squeals a bit. has good comp, and tons of power, but definately smokes. has metal tank, but after a weel it sprang a leak, so I bought a plastic one. That is being completely honest. It has basically sat since I got it, awaiting rebuild, other than a few romps around the property here and there. I have a 350x front fender for it, has a rare hondaline black seat cover!! I have 1550.00 into it, and would let it go for 1200.00, would really make a nice machine with a little tlc. I think I obviously paid two much for it, but I was exited and nieve i guess at the time, I think 1200 is fair, with the 2 sets of wheels and maybe some other bits.

well i spent most of today on the 3- wheeler, got the rear end all back together, like new, put the carb I had cleaned back in, cleaned airbox, petcock, the tank is absolutely perfect inside!! Took the plug out cleaned it, couldnt seem to find a new one although i know i got em. turned on the gas, unfortunately it was pissing out the overflow!! but I kicked it 3 times no choke and it fired right up Sounded very loud!! since it sat with all that mud caked on the motor, it must have rotted the header seals, I could see sparks when giving it some throttle and looking closely!! leaking by header pretty good I would imagine. Unfortunately befor I put the cleaned up and oiled chain back on I figured I would remove the case saver and clean the gunk and dirt from the slider and drive sprocket area. Well to my surprise I was disgusted to see that the stator cover was busted right in front of the sprocket, about a quarter size chunk right on the edge is cracked and pushed in about an 1/8" leaving a slight gap between the cover and case. How big of a deal is it if this was run this way for awhile. there has to be some dirt and stuff in there. So no oil flows through there right?, Just houses the stator? I'll snap a pic of it later! So now I have to get a carb rebuild kit, get the headers off without breaking the studs so I can replace the seals, get the stator cover taken care of, and some new rear brake pads and she should be good to go. I want to ride it a for awhile before i tear it all down for a very thorough go through!! Whats a good carb kit to get for these, and does anyone have a decent stator cover they could spare for reasonable $. Looks like it will be awhile yet before I get to enjoy a ride on her, but I did do a quick lap around the yard and boy I cant wait

got the moose kit coming, dont think I need it now, but good to have on hand. I realized the o-ring I used on the float bowl drain screw was to thick, it wasnt allowing the screw to seat properly. so it should be all right now. Just waiting for some parts so I can get it back together. trying to clean all sorts of little stuff while i'm waiting, this thing was filthy, filthy!! I thought the seals on the header were bad, but all that caked on mud rotted the one side right through. I had a real nice spare, just had that redish brown baked on mud all over it. the oem paint underneath locked pretty good, so I wanted to try and salvage it, but that cooked mud is tough as nails, I tried a few things, and nothing would cut it without using something abrasive, so I ended up painting it. came out sweet!! Hopefully the next pics I post I will have it all back together, and riding it.
