Kawasaki 250 carb!!!

What would be a good solution in stopping the slide from sticking in the carb. I have cleaned-polished and its smooth, Oiled the cable.Could it be worn out? Any input would help!

Tweak up the spring or replace with a stronger one would probably be my next step.

This would have been my first step after making sure it wasn't dirty. In fact, now that you mention it i need to do the same to mine since its a bit sticky.
