    Selling 3 wheelers

I realize the economy isn't the greatest and with winter on its way people are worried about heating costs and what not so to get to the point is anyone having any luck selling their 3 wheelers? I'm trying to unload a little of my herd because i recently moved and literally have nowhere to ride without hauling them. So anyway i'm not planning to give them away, but i feel i'm asking fair market prices (20-25% lower than what i would've expected to get out of them over a year ago, and taking substantial losses on a couple) but i dont even get offers from people. I've tried several local ads, and the obvious classified section and craigslist but thus far i've had nothing but offers to trade for something thats beat much worse than my machines.

Basically a rant, but is anyone else in the same boat? Should i hold out or just drop the prices a few hundred bucks and eat a little more of a loss? Thanks for reading anyway, TC...

Thanks for that info i will look into that this week once i get some fresh pics. I was avoiding ebay because of the hassles, fees, and deadbeat bidders that 'didn't' realize it was 1500 miles away...

Machines that are selling are in the 1000$ to 1500$ range..
The sad thing is, parting them brings more money right now.
With the economy, the way it is, alot of folks arent splurging..The are just trying to maintain what they have.

It is a great time to buy and part out stuff right now..
Banshee's with a ton of aftremarket parts are only pulling 1500-1800 around here, and many times, the cases, jugs, and pipes bring that money right back in, parting out, and you still have most of the bike to part yet.
Here is where my long useless list of stuff nobody cares about should go...

Not sure. I haven't tried to sell any of mine yet. I do know guys around here are trying to get a lot of money out of their average condition utility trikes ($800-$1000).

hmm well i dont have the heart to part my original 350X right now but maybe in the next few months it will hit the auction block in pieces.

Mosh i know what you mean about the banshee deal, one i know of that the kid had over 12k in (everything was new and billet or polished) needed a top end and he couldn't get 2500.00 out of it...

Sorry to hear ANYONE selling their machines.......

Sounds like Mosh is doing good, maybe private sales? EBAY doesn't seem to be bringing in anything lately. Of course, single carbs into to cylinders, Tommey pipes, axles (parts like them) will always bring in good coin.

I'd say prices are about HALF of what they were maybe 1 1/2yrs ago when things had peaked out. Fenders bringing in 1000$, tanks 500$, 350X headlights - 250$!!

Look at the guy with all the fork sets, those use to grab about 700$ and now most of them are selling for about 400$ and upwards. Which, honestly is all there worth but there was a time people were going CRAZY over OEM/NOS parts.

Beautiful trikes with 4K into them are getting 1200$ and people are selling them because they need to pay other bills, thats the sad part about all this.

I wish it would stay like this, but since I'm not working I can't grab any of these bargains

I agree it's very nice to be on the buying end of the deal, which is actually what i'm up to. I'm looking to buy a car and want to thin out a 350x or two. Not to change the topic or turn this into a for sale ad but my machines are listed in the classified and i haven't even received an offer. I know its a tough economy and i'm in the same boat i just happened upon another very clean all original super coupe i'd like to own. And since i moved into town i have zero places to ride and 7 3 wheelers that take up space i figure i'll try to make up the money i need by selling a couple, TC...

Here are my machines in the classified section with reduced prices that are very fair considering the money invested.

As a side note i've turned down several offers of 2k for the original 350x because people were grilling me on the phone and trying to tell me more about the machine i own than i knew. So i would love to see it go to a collector or someone that will own it for two years and ride it for less than 15 minutes like i did, but that seems like its not much of an option right now.

Sorry to hear you're not doing all that great & are trying to sell off some of your bikes TC, I've listed just about everything I've got on CL,Ebay & local and the only responses I get are the "We'll get you the money you want" for only a "small fee" type calls(always are recordings), and a text message from some kid wanting to trade an Ipod for my SX. I hope something pans out for you man.

Thanks for chiming in gazoo, i wish i could keep it all, but i just simply dont have any toy money unless i sell something i already own to buy something else. All of our income is going to pay the bills, put food on the table, and dont get me started on daycare for 2 kids. Plus she's currently laid-off indefinitely and in the process of finding another job. So anyway by no means am i complaining or trying to say i have it the worst out of anyone, because i know we're fortunate to be in good health and moving forward. But anyway its a little frustrating knowing that a little over a year ago my prices would have been steals, maybe i can hold off til tax time? Thanks again guys for all of your replies, and i listed the original 350x on ebay with my zip code (16828) and the ads look great thanks for that advice 200x350triz250, TC
