I like the clamp on style but they do wear out fast and are rather thin. I usually buy scott because they are cheap (like me)!

I don't know what lock-on grips you guys are using but those Odi "Rogue" grips are not thin or stiff and they don't wear out quick. Personally I think they are the shiznit. I've always had problems with grips twisting and even coming off when riding in triple digit weather no matter what I tried. All the glues just heat up and let go. Obviously that's never a problem with these grips. The Rogue model has just the right amount of rubber to soften vibration too. Thinner than an Oury but thicker than a Scott.

Maybe you guys were using the Ruffian? It's much thinner. They have a third option now too which looks like it might be a good in between option.

i've never liked grip glue myself. of course if dirt gets under them they'll spin, but i just use a light touch of hairspray. clean the bars and inside of the grips. then it doesn't take much, grip slips on easy, dries in a min and sticks pretty dang good. i might not as hard on mine as some of ya though.

I get my grips at the BMX shop, they're Scott grips and the packaging is a simple BAG!! and about 8$, which is perfect for me.

I don't need a plastic heat sealed box that I need a Sawzall, Circular saw or Oxy/Acetylene to open. They can keep the sticker too

Lets face it, if you ride and don't just putt putt around, your gonna tear the end cap off of them before you even think about wearing out the compound.

Hence the reason I run the Scott grip
