1985 honda 250sx rear end troubles

i have just aquired an 85 250sx with rear end issues. this one was from someones deer camp and looks as if it sat out all the time. runs likes a top, though. rear end slips always, totally trashed. what i am needing is most likely a rear diff or good quality parts to fix. service manual, rear brake cable and reverse cable as well as lh handlebar perch where these mount. are most oem parts still avail for this unit? hate to part out, got a good deal on it any parts and or info would be appreciated thanks.

My buddy had the same problem with his SX. We used a diff out of a Big red. Its geared lower than the SX diff, but works perfectly fine. You can buy rebuild kits for them though.

I not sure how your bike may differ from mine but on my 200 I was getting some slippage. It turned out that the splines were worn down to about a 45deg angle and were sliping in the hub.
