You know looking at the pictures I can see this guy may not know anything about a 2 stoke motor. If you look you can see 2 spark plugs but only one exhaust and carb. Anyone else see this?Originally Posted by benscool1

Howdy
I had a buddy who had a yamaha oil injected two stroke. It was an air cooled single with dual plugs. Its funny that only one plug is hooked up, my friend used to do the same thing. He said it made no difference if it was hooked up or not, so he used it as spare in case he fouled one out. (I know that doesnt make any sense, but thats what he said). BTW it was a smaller enduro motorcycle (black and yellow), im guessing early 70's.

Okay, I think Ive figured it out. What he has is a Banshee chassis, and a DT250 motor in it from the 70's. Something from the Banshee (plastic maybe) probably says "twin" on it, and he got the 246cc off of the cylinder where its marked. By the way, In the 70's most 2 strokes had two plug holes in the head, using only one at a time. The idea was that if one failed you could switch over, but it was really dumb idea because with fouling being the most common failure, if you foulded the one that was firing, you probably fouled the other too, which is why dont dont do it any more. Back then though, they about all did it. They also sold a dummy plug bolt that you could screw into the second hole to plug it instead of using a spark plug.
You guys think this thing would be a decent project? How sure are you its a Shee chassis? You think that DT 250 motor would push this around pretty good?

It looks like a banshee chassis to me. I would imagine if you could keep the weight down it would move ok. Being air colled will help with the weight. Sure is cheap though, worth a try to find out how it would be.
