Shawn, you need to swap out the lighting coil on the stator. The ricky setup uses an 80watt but they also sell a 65watt which won't blow your lights.Thats what I did for my standard lights setup and it's fine. They sell for $39 on their website and if I remember rightly it's only a case of soldering 2 wires.Nice build by the way, absolutley awesome.

I got the Ricky Stator and the flywheel combo on mine and I was told that you had to use a regulator. I think it was 20 bucks and all is well so far. This is on my 86.

i'm not going to be useing the stock light. i don't have one and there hard to find like the airbox. i'm going to use 2 55 watt fog lights, so i'll need all the 80 watts the stator puts out.

I doubt any regulator will work. If youre going to run lights, yes use a regulator.
