92 xr 100 wont rev up...... please help me

hey there guys... well im fixing this bike for my friends dad...the bike has been sitting for about 3-4 years.... and woldnt start when i got my hands on it... things i did to get her going are...

cleaned the mice nest out of the air box
new spark plug
cleaned the carb 3 times
fresh gas

now when i start the bike i kick it over ounce and it fires right up perfect and idles good.... but when i give it gas the rpm go up very very little and nothing else... theres no bog it just doesnt rev up at all and if i hold it wide open it eventualy dies...

so me thinking that maybe there was a nest in the exaust i took the whole head pipe off the bike and re started it and there was no change at all...i also made sure that the petcock was flowing gas out of the tank at a steady pace...

now could this be some type of an electrical problem..... the bike will sit and idle perfectly all day long just wont rev up....please help me out

another wierd thing i tried was holding the bike full throttle and spraying quick starting fluid in the carb and it didnt rev up any more eather i did this just to see if more gas would make it rev up.... also there is no change with the choke on....

I know the older xrs have a timing advancer on the flywheel . check and see if the advancer is stuck or missing the springs EXC.

really yeah to think of it i have a friend that has an 89 xr 100 that he told me when they rebuilt it they had to fix the points... now im pretty sure an 89 xr doesnt have points... but my friend doesnt no much so this timing advance could have been mistaken by him as a points set up... ill check that out first thing tomorow.... cause he said his 89 ran identical to mine wouldnt ev out at all then they pulled the fly wheel "and cleaned the points" and it fixed the problem... lol im betting this is my problem... ill let you guys know... i ohnestly didnt pull the fly wheel ounce i saw the cdi box not thinking there could be anything that would have to be messed with...
