Largest Motor In 200x frame

Whats the largest motor someone has stuckin a 200x frame with or without modding it? What challenges did you face? Does it offically run? Was it worth the trouble? Ive heard from a friend of a friend of a friend etc.... That someone stuck a motorcycle engine on one. Interesting.

if willing to mod, then nearly anything. I've seen 250r motors in there and 500r started, but the guy ran outta $. (200x frame lighter than 250r)

Thats Sandpuppies 600X.. I believe its a mix between a 350X and XR600 frames..

not much fits in a 200x frame. if you hack it up anything can be made to fit. but prob you sprockets wont line up in the end cuz those motors were not as wide as other bikes.

You'd be surprised what fits in an 86/87 style frame

But, I always tell people, how many good conversions do you see?? We know the people that have the tools and abilities... Otherwise, any meatball can stuff any motor in any frame, and it never works well and gets sold for peanuts.

Want more power?? Build the motor!! Performance engine changes don't add any weight to speak of...................

Thanx for the info guys. i Guess its best to work from the ground up instead of stuffin it. And i didn't know that the 200x frame is lighter. Is it the LIGHTEST 3 wheeler frame?

xr200 and 230f dirtbike engines will bolt in for the most part, and give a pretty healthy power gain. I put a tlr200 dirtbike engine in a 200s of mine, and the only major problem is the kicker. I have a parts 200x engine, and the plan was to mix and match parts to end up with a 6 speed manual clutch 200s with a forward kicker and 200x head/valves/and camshaft. I haven't gotten around to finish it, but I did take it for a few rides with the 6 speed tlr engine.

xr 200 motors do not bold in 84+ i tried, an RFVC motor is nearly as big as a 86/87 200x motor. 83-02 xr200 motor fits but no mounting points mount up really, i know because i trided. if you mod the framw it fits in there fine.

???? 83-02 XR200 and 83-85 200X have the same center cases so they do fit including the head. All the bolts line up perfectly. The RFVC engines don't fit but they are crappy anyway.

In my local classifieds about a month ago someone was selling an 85 200x with cr500 motor in it for $500. it was a little rough around the edges but still looked bad A .
I called him up and the guys brother ended up in the hospital for 2 weeks and wanted to get rid of it.
I tried to call him back to work out a deal and I could not get a hold of him.

I measured it out at one point and a blaster engine will go in, and a 490 engine isn't much bigger.
