    Timing on a 200x

What is the easiest way to get the timing right on my 85 200x I know you have to line up up the mark on the flywheel with the mark on top of the head and make sure the mark on the cam is lined with it too but is there a trick to get it spot on without much hassle thanks

I typically take a small straight screwdriver and take the chain tensioneer 100 whrech headed bolt out and loosen the 14mm bolt way up, then push down on the screwdriver in the open hole and retighten the 14mm bolt. that holds it loose and lets you work with it, w/o tension. you can then slip 1 link at a time over the cam if needed. I get the crank TDC then check where i am at the top. cam lobes should be pointing straight down. circle on cam shoudl be at notch in cam cover on head. move by 1 link at a time till pretty much perfect.

line up all your timing marks and set.then start your machine, keep your cover off your pick up on the cam and loosen the two screws and adjust it, slight movements too the rear or front till it runs perfect.
