Thats the thing with air cooled 2 strokes.
If it were mine, I'd bore it out and fit the piston .004 - .005 over and drill 2 holes in the piston below the lower ring to lubricate the exhaust port. Thats where there known to heat up and rings melt to pistons etc etc.....
Looks like something came apart and bounced around the head for sometime before it blew out the exhaust, doesn't have to be detonation.
Get that cylinder off and see what the piston and rings look like. Hopefully you can fix it and keep it
