drag race today on my 200x
Hey guys. Just thought I would share with you what happened today. Well, I was riding at a local gravel pit on my 85' 200x, and I was fishing there for a little while. Two guys came up to me on a 2001 Poolaris trailblazer 250, and asked if I wanted to race. I said sure, and went out to the road. I knew the polaris had a 2 stroke engine, and was bigger, and had automatic, but it did'nt bother me at all. We decided to race about 1/4 mile down the gravel. I told the guy to let his friend off, and to have a single race. Well he let him off, and told his friend "watch me beat this P.O.S." After hearing that, I told him to start his engine. He did, feeling confident he would beat the much smaller, older trike. I started mine, and his friend gave the signal to GO. We jumped off the starting line, I got the holeshot, but in 4th gear, the Poolaris started to catch up. I let him get next to me, then I hit it into 5th gear, and I was gone. I beat him by 3 or 4 bike lengths. He was embarassed afterwards, and demanded a few rematches. We raced 7 or 8 times. He only beat me once. (I did a wheelie on start, and had the choke on oops ) He couldnt believe that I beat him. I was a little suprised as well. How could a 20 year old trike beat a near new quad with a bigger engine? Its amazing what these things can do. I'll never give up trikes!

alis weigh, gearing, kind of tires, its got a auto tranny(ugh), and drag of a extra wheel. Do the math, a good rider could smoke one of those on a 200x all day long.
