Here is a picture of a 84/85 T3 with a 1985-86 Suzuki LT250R motor in it.
Looks to have the stock LT pipe.
Anybody ever seen or tried that?

i mean that the early quadracer engines have less power potential than the KX based tecate engines.. the only thing the suzuki engines have going for them is a better ignition system and counter balancer.. other than that the kawi engine is superior in every way and it fits like it was meant to...

probably not a great option but still an option. Lot more LTs and parts for them around.
I looked at putting a 87-92 LT motor in an 86 T3 and it was a tight squeeze but looked possible. I was more interested in the swingarm fitting on there which also looked possible with minor modifications to bolt on but then there was the whole shock geometry. Never got that far.

the old lt engine would probably be the easiest engine to get in there. as the exhaust exits on an angle to clear the front down tube. swingarm bolt diameter is the same. just have to make front and lower engine mounts. but that pipe doesn't look right, probably try the stock tecate pipe. probably fit better.
you'll also be slower. i have an 86 lt250r. its a fun quad but slower than a 85 t3.

the back of the engines are almost exactly the same width. the chain alignment is only .100 different. so a lt motor in a T3 would just need the rear sprocket shimmed out.. much easier than using a t3 motor in an lt chassis where the engine must be offset... i loved my lt250,
but they are not built nearly as well as a kx or t3 powerplant IMO.
