Need info on 200x performance kits.

I want more power on my 84 200x. Can I buy a kit for it with cam, cam chain bigger piston/rings, and everything I would need. And give me the info on what to do and what size carb. Maybe 30 or 40 over and when they say 40 over is that 40 mm over the staock thx.

I think if you contacted POWROLL they could set you up with a kit with everything you need....they also do porting and I think a few people on this site do port work too. Maybe ask around. As far as 40 over...this means .040 over. Boring a stock cylinder does nothing for power, it just makes your cylinder walls thinner and weaker. Only bore if your cylinder is damaged or out-of-round...and use the smallest overbore possible that will correct the damage.
    Don't worry...just run watcha brung...

I dont think there are kits like that available but i know powroll makes a cam and wiseco has piston kits and 40 over would be the size of your piston which your bore size would be 66mm and stock is 65mm hope this helps

Powroll has a lot of good stuff. Last sumer I ran a megacycle cam with the bearings on both ends, 10.25:1 piston, ported head, and a carb off of an xr 200. Ran like a top, and had great power. This summer it's getting a stroker crank, and a powroll piston to finish the 200x project.

Powroll still offers a stroker crank and several other parts. Megacycle and Webcam still make cams and some engine components also. Depending on how aggressive your looking to get, megacycle offers the biggest cam still for a 200x. With moderate engine work and some porting and an exhaust, you can run upwards of a 28mm carb. I have heard of people even using a 30mm but it starts getting difficult to tune and the larger you go the more your power moves towards the top end at the compromise to your bottom end.

Lee, I will let you know when I get my parts from Powroll. I will set my old Wiseco next to the Powroll and take a pic. I think they are different though.

If I remember correctly the pistons are def not the same from powroll and wiseco , 2 different manuf. Also powroll offered back in the day a 13.5 or so piston that would really pop . Not sure what they sell now as everyhing has prob changed .

I've done up a few modern 200X trieks now and I can hoenstly tell you, how much $ are you willing to spend is what will determine the performance gains you get.

that said, Here's my build up on my monster 200x.

    weisco 12:1 piston
    CNC ported and valved head
    web custom cam
    welded and hardened rockers
    web valve springs
    titanium retainers
    1mm larger valves

head decked and shaved to give me a 13:1 compression ratio

    brapp clutch setup (cevlar setup)

    30mm mikuni carb
    custom 30mm intake

this setup should yeild me into the 22-24hp range on that bike. That's a lot of power for that 200x.

I'm researching the "lightened flywheel" process as i have access to a machine shop that can do it, program the CNC and mimic it for any 200cc honda flywheel in the future.

btw, this setup before exhaust system will ruin be about $1200-$1400

Thx for that info Thats similar to what i was looking into. 12:1 mid range cam stroke, springs camchain ect. Im prettystrapped for cash but I'll just put some to the side and fill and little by little fill my shelf. It will be a while but I have to start. Just depends how much work I can get. Right now its rough. Plus with my trike 2 day I hitalmostmax speed in 4th not enough power for 5th. %th was like an over drive, but thats because I have a 13 tooth front and 35 rear sprocket. She runs good tru all gears but 5th is sluggy. Only reason i have them on is cuz my one chain is a o-ring chain and I didnt have the master link for that one and the shop was closed. So I just popedthe top end spockets on with the non o-ring chain. But just seeing howitran 2 day if I had more torque and power I would eat all of 5th gear up. Alright letmestop rambling.

the machine shop I use is called endyn.
    www.theoldone.com
they use only CNC machines to work on their stuff and then fine tune anything needed by hand after. so boring and honing is CNC done, and calving and porting is also CNC done. their flow bench is the biggest flowing bench in the world (volume wise) but they don't advertise that.
