Trike Circus is May 31,2014
well with one small spacer the clamps convert to a 250r stem very easy . so installation on a 250r is a snap.. just a little grinding to clear the top nut and they fit pretty nice,,, the clamps are for a late 90's VTX1800 HONDA,, SO LET THE SEARCHING BEGIN,, the forks i have are 1 inch longer than stock 250r forks .. there are no identifying marks on them so i can't say what they fit,,, it appears they might not be japanese either,,, i am still searching on the forks its going to take a little work on the front brake,, the disc is going to have to be a little bigger to get a full width into the caliper,,, but i have them mounted and the brakes are the only issue i have to finish,,, the clamps fit the forks on the lower but i will have to have a shimm made for top one .

late 90's? 02 is the oldest vtx 1800 i can find.
Did you try any other forks?
Kasey, so can you give us ID measurements of the tripples so we might be able to find something to cross over?
I was very interested in this thread and followed it cause I too want inverted forks but didnt want to spend $400 on triples.
Come to find out I know what forks you have! You have a set of Aprilia RX125 Front Forks part #S1100HGS810. I have the same set (was on ebay now there off![]()
). They are about a 1/2 inch shy of a stock 250r fork. Also Good luck finding a set. They are not that easy to come by. But with all the Chinessee and Italian made parts about 99% of them were produced already by the big 3.
For example- the Kasea 50cc dirt bikes, there motors are the same as a KTM 50 jr. also Kasea Skyhawk 170/250, alot interchanges with Blasters. Kasea/eton parts swap with Polaris Scrambers.
From what I can measure on the forks (if my calipers read right) is the top part of the forks are 50mm & bottom 54mm. They are about 34 inches from the center of front axle up to top of forks.
Now I just need a triple clamp![]()

Those dimensions sound very very close to the KTM85SX forks that I used on my tri-z that have now become the popular switch. I think they are 56mm at the bottom clamp and 49mm at the top from what I can recall from memory, so with a very minimal bore job you'd be setup to run them which are maybe easier to find parts for. They've also got full re-bound dampening adjustments (those forks didn't look to have it from the pics Kasey posted)
wow ,, are there any numbers on those forks anywhere? i searched through 200 sets of forks to find these,, they are as close as i could get to the stock length and have the caliper on the proper side,,, can you post a pict of the caliper bracket and the mounts on the forks? thanks
wow is right,, what are the chances of a guy having the same set of Aprilia.. forks...
well i did stay at a holiday inn last night![]()

Regardless, it's a great idea but the chances of the 200 or so of us getting all the parts are about as good as a scratch ticket.... However, I do thank you very much for sharing!!
Fortunately I have 7' of 1"x4" 6061 aluminum and a Bridgeport so I can make my own triples. The forks themselves don't seem very abundant so the search continues. But, at least you shared your info:
Sorry to my good buds, I have to keep this alloy for myself. But, creative steel is always an option:
I guess I'll just try and grab some 125 or 250cc forks from the big 3 and I'll ask Goat how his work out........
Any way you slice it, it's big $$ for forks. Maybe finding a YZF, using the forks and popping the motor into a Honda chassis is the best way to go. IMO Honda still do9esn't make the best thumper powerplant which is a damn shame
And...... I need some rake anyhow being a 350X. OR. I'll pull a Jason and mess with the rear shock height or chop the neck to the desired rake.
There are other triples that appear similar but I don't have junkyards like you do Kasey so I may just have to make them. Fortunately, I do have a nice boring head and the outline can be hand milled and blended in.
But, if I must pay 300$ smacks for awesome forks and make the rest myself, it may very well be worth the work involved!!
I wondered what fork you had, 2 piston calipers aren't on many of the newer MX bikes.............. Didn't seem like anything I had seen before............
Thanks again for sharing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All our government does is distract us while they steal from us, misspend our tax $ and ruin our country
heres a picture of the forks i put on my r there 2005 ktm85 sx forks
