200x carb kit part - what is this?

Hi - just got my 85 200x carb kit and there is one part I can't for sure identify...see the attached pics. On my carb there is a piece of brass stuck in the main body that the long jet needle slides into...this thing is wedged in there pretty good and sticks out a little into the main throat of the carb...is this that part? If so how do I get it out?

    Thanks!!!

Yes that is the part. That is the seat where the needle in the slide goes... (directly below the slide in the carb body) You have to push it out through the slide hole, while your primary jet is removed...

Got it. So with everything removed it will push out towards the float area? Then it appears by screwing in the main jet and holder that parts will be pressed in again?

I just want to make sure I don't damage anything!

    Thanks again!

Correct... The old one is probably gummed in lightly. The new one should go in with little effort.

you may want to use a long thin punch to push it out with so you don't damage the carb itself.

hrmm, i only have 1 good 200x carb, but i am looking at using a 30mm mikuni instead, so if I do, I'll offer it up at a good price.

also if you can't wait, try ebay. there are several there for good prices.

you can laso get a carb got a xr200 and it's 28mm and will run better than the 200x stocker.
