    paint temp ?

anyone know if the factory wheel paint will survive in the oven at 375 deg. Going to powder the wheels, but the inside is like new wondering if I could just do the outside.

What "factory" wheel is painted? The alloy wheels are all anodized......

Got a picture of what your doing?

Baked on paint may last, Honda did a dipping process that came out super that may or may not last in the oven....

Are you taping off the good stuff when prepping/blasting??

I use to strip everything in the wood stove as a kid, until I melted my 3 piece cranks Sugino's 175mm I think

Confuse me a hair less will ya

To powder you need to sand blast so if you can avoid the backs side go for it. To test the old paint throw a rim in the over at 375 for a while before you powder coat the outside.

DC all steel rims are painted.

Why do you care about factory paint? I dont get it. I thought you're repainting them? The inside is like new? Its rusty! Repaint the entire thing you wont regret it. That rust is going to do nothing but spread.

    I get it now......

Toss one half in the oven for 20 minutes and see what happens. If it darkens then it is what it is.

Then blast away and powder them.

    Nice rims, I'd keep em
