Not to hijack but how about an atc 200, would a 250sx carb make an improvment.
Its not an easy bolt on.
And a red 2000 silverado
for carbs i have a keihin cvk34 from an 06 400 arctic cat laying around that wouldn't by any miracle work would it?
I'm using the original carb., but haven't dialed it in yet. Since I know nothing about carb. jetting, its in the shop right now. Tell ya what though, cam and heavier springs and a Cobra exhaust system, really uped the torque.

85'KLT160 (sold 05)
84' Big Red (Cobra exhaust, good shape) sold in 08
84' Big Red (Parts Bike, runs good though)sold in 08
85' 250SX (New plastic, Clark Plastic Gas Tank, Web Cam Camshaft, Cobra Exhaust, Moose Jet Kit, etc..) sold in 2010 and highly regret!!!
04 Polaris Sportsman (Swapped 400 motor with a 500, Polaris wheels w/Kendra Bearclaws, Moose Fender Flares, Brushguard, Warn Winch)
84 200s (Needs work!)
I would worry less about aftermarket carb and more on aftermarket exhaust and good working stock carb.

this thing has enough low end to flip over backwards without ever sitting on the back. i just want some more mid-range power, get there quicker type a deal. Where would i be able to get hold of a good(cheap) exhaust?
Using a manual isn't that like cheatin?

denniskirk.com has a full cobra pipe for the BR for like $110. Which is a really good price for a new pipe. Just remember the copper crush ring that you put in between the header pipe and the motor. its like a gasket. Mine never had one and it made her run terrible

You have to get the carb rejetted after you put an exhaust on!!! Trust me, it won't run right. Oh, and expect to make a smoke show for about 5 min. when you start it. About a foot of the header pipe paint will desinagrate!!!

make sure its not the utility version of the cobra, made that mistake before, If you aren't mud riding, then just remove the airbox all together and go with a clamp on UNI. As far as a cam goes, a web cam stage II is what you want, way more mid and top end power. The cobra with jetting, and airbox mods alone will royally improve the "yank" factor for you.
You don't want to know the actual numbers, because they are pitiful and will throw off your opinion of the end result, you are never goig to make it into a 30 horse howler, but the seat of the pants feel will make you feel like you have a hot rod.
