no the biggest factory motor is a 230 for the 200x. 300/350 motor is way too big and would require alot of welding

you will cut up the frame so bad it wont work. i had HREATV.com do alot of work on a 84 200x for me in 2007 and i asked this question...a 250x/300ex motor is the same size as a 350x motor. you can run an older xr200 motor in it, 1981-83 will bolt up perfect. also no one realizes somthing i ran into with swaping motors...the 200x has a tiny narrow frame. i had a 300ex style swing custom bulit by HRE and it had to be offset almost 1.5" to get sprocket to line up. with larger motors you will run into this and would have to shove it towards the right had side.

all in all just stop thinking right now, get a 350x if ya want one...its sooooo much easier.

If my girlfriend told me to get rid of my tecate, she would be the first one out! See what happens when you let a chick like that stick around, she is gone, and so is your wheeler!

If you want something old, but new. Find a 350X frame and swap in a 300EX ,motor. Basically bolts rights in. Just did it myself.

why drop in a 300ex into a 350x frame? your probebly not going to find a roller, so why not just do up the 350x engine?
    I can see a 400ex but not a 300ex unless you have a very trashed 350x motor.

Actually I just bought a complete roller 96 350X minus forks for $40, I also bought his nice complete 85, which is why the deal was there. the 300 bolts in, the 400 won't fit. I am just saying if the guy ( like myself ) wants a quad that he can ride daily and get parts for easily, a 300EX motor IMO is the way to go. You can build the motors up nicely and make good power with them too. I'm keeping all my X parts for the restore on the 86, and back up parts.
