question for all u Tri-z people

Im sure this has been asked and answered but... i have an 85 tri-z that i rebuilt. All stock. Two things are really bugging me.
First: Is there a real way to seal the header pipe to the head so it dosnt leak and smoke like nuts??? i purchased what i was brougth to believe was a NOS tri-z header pipe O-ring doghnut thing and it didnt do a thing.

Second: this thing is a pain to start. I have to pull the top line off the gas tank and pressurize the tank till i see gas come out the carb trying to start it. Usually start in just a couple kicks and then runs great. Except for the above mentioned pipe issue.

    ANy help would be awesome.
    thanks

if it is that hard to start sounds like either you need to rebuild the fuel pump because if the fuel pump is right it should pull the gas through pretty easy and do you leave the gas on or off i always leave mine on so it will start alot easier

x2 on sealant for the pipe. Buy some of the hi-temp copper silicone. run a good bead around the inside of the pipe and on the engine flange. Assemble and let it sit for 24 hours and you will be good to go
