    any sailors here???

I used to race Laser class as a kid. Had a few lasers. Got out of it for years, no lake access. Well my folks just bought a house on Cayuga lake, and I just picked up another Laser. I cant wait to take it out. Hopefully, there will be some serious wind tomorrow. Sailing Lasers and other small race boats is about as extreme as you can get. These things can get up on a plane, and I have even passed small motorboats in heavy air. Not much of a racing scene here anymore, and I doubt I would race if there were one, but nothing beats blasting around the lake in 4 foot swells in a 14 foot olympic racing boat. Sure get a good ab workout from trying to keep it from tipping over. Im pretty stoked to get out there. Heres me in 1984 kicking some tail. I won this race, as you can see, there is noone even remotley close to me.

My brother and I used to work in a dealership that sells Lasers. They hosted a big regatta every year on eastern Long Island. If you need parts I can probably get you a good deal and I know you can't pass up a good deal. :-D See you at TF 04.

DON'T EVER CALL ME A SAILOR  I cant stand boats with sticks in them! All my boats have to have engines and the bigger the better. Besides, most sailors think since the wind is free everything else should be. That said, I can see why you like sailing.

I like power boats too. I have had a few but had to sell them. The first was really neat, I had a 1962 Buehler Turbocraft jet boat. It was about 16 feet, flat bottom (like a Nautique) with a chevy 350 mounted right in the middle (like a Nautique). We decided we wanted a bigger boat, so we sold it and got a 90 Chaparral 2350SX with 454 Mag, Bravo one drive, silent choice exhaust, the works. It was a good 60 MPH boat all day long. I miss it. As soon as I soften up the folks a little more, Im going to be in the market for a good ski boat, either a Mastercraft, or a Nautique or possibly an older Century V-drive.

Yeah, I just picked up a 1963 Glaspar G3 that I am restoring. I'll add it to the fleet with my 16 Hydrostream, 15 fiberglass work boat and 35 1971 Chris Craft Commander. :-D

I like boating, not much into sailboats and stuff though, fishing mainly hehe. My cousin just bought a 31ft ChrisCraft with dual 350 Chevy's. I don't know what year it is yet, I'm gonna go look at it sometime this week/next weekend. Thing is its on the other side of the state (Ft. Peirce) so when they get the motors out, rebuild them, and get them back in it's gonna have to come up to the intercoastal waterway through the middle of Lake Ocechobee and across the state, and then north about 100 or so miles to the Steinhatchee River, which is where their going to dock it at and stuff.

Before he had a 17ft Stamas bi-hull boat with a 55horse Johnson on it. He still has it, its a pretty nice boat for its age. If anyone is interested I'll tell a very interested (And long) story about one of the time we went fishing, wasn't the best day we had hehe.
