    NGK Spark Plug

I pulled out the Spark plug to change it and noticed it was a NGK D8EA. The CLYMER Manual calls for a NGK D7EA. So bought the NGK D7EA and placed them side by side. There is no difference in size or length. Which one should I be using and whats the difference? The bike ran with the NGK D8EA! NOTE: I called the Yamaha dealer and they wanted $11 bucks for NGK plugs, the same plug at Napa was $1.50!

The D8EA is 1 step colder heat range.

Never buy plugs from the dealer unless it's a last resort and you can't find them anywhere else lol. I find that my local Advance Auto store has a lot of NGK plugs for small engines.

Usually you want to run colder plugs in the summer and hotter plugs in the winter, helps with the engine temperature. Yea dealers are rip offs on most things, I went to the clearance section at my local yamaha dealer and stuff is cheaper at rocky mountain atv not on sale.
