Pulled plug out and was drippin oil

I am not a mechanic, so lets get that out of the way! But I do understand the logistic of these four strokes! So I pulled my plug out and it was full of oil. This meaning rings are bad or bad valves and stems or loose bearing. So I will probably have to rebuild the top end and if so, can I switch out my 200 top for a 225, with out changing the whole engine. Or is there a quick fix to this foul plug situation. Now mind you when it starts and I push the throttle, it bogs out and dies. Then wont start again until I wait awhile, but if I just let it idle for about 10 minute, I can run the bike , but with low power! I just don't know where to start! One more thing, when it is running, you can hear a sound like something is tapping! Can anyone tell me anything?

sounds like it's time for a newtop end/rebuild bad rings=oil=low comp= no power when you got it apart do the valves ....do all that and no more fouled plugs....the best quick fix is to do it RIGHT the 1st time

When it was running, did it smoke real bad blue smoke? Sounds like you may have worn oil control rings, and scrapers. Measure the cylinder and determine if it needs to be bored. Then order a new oversize piston, or if the piston and cylinder are okay, order new ring set. Keep in mind a 4 stroke uses 5 rings - 2 compression rings, 1 oil control ring, and 2 oil scraper rings. Follow the manual the whole time if you decide to rebuild it. Dont take any short-cuts, and follow the directions. Good luck with what you decide.

Firstly, I didn't see any mention of low compression. The dripping could be oil or gas or oil and gas. Until you check the compression psi with the throttle open, you won't know if low compression of leaky carb.
